Interior lights and...

Featured Replies

So as mentioned on my "new members" intro, I've just acquired a high mileage Mondeo MK4 tdci.

Couple of questions for the resident experts:

 1. The interior lights don't come on with the key fob or when the doors are opened. Everything else comes on - the radio display, speedo display, outside lights. The interior lights only work if the overhead button is pressed. Any ideas?

2. I've used Millars diesel treatment to good effect with past cars (it seemed to help the injectors in a previous MK3 tdci), but this is the first car I've owned with a PDF. Any thoughts on whether it's likely to cause any problems with the DPF system?

Many thank you all the expert's!

It maybe that a previous owner enabled Dark(Police)Mode with FORScan or something similar.

If that is the case then your best bet maybe to ask in a dedicated Mondeo Forum.

Millers are the best people to ask about their additives although they have a vested interest in the answer that they will give you.

No issues, that I am aware of, with using Millers Ecomax...been using it for about 7 years instead of Shell V-power. I use it to keep the vaporiser clean (injector in the exhaust) as the original one clogged up with carbon build up and therefore preventing DPF regens.

Have you used a multimeter to check the car battery voltage across the terminals ?

Thanks for the replies all - I've sorted the interior lights.

Last night in the dark I noticed the *off" button was illuminated. I pressed both buttons many times to see if it was a switch setting, when suddenly the "off" button was no longer illuminated, and now the interior lights operate normally. Woo hoo!
