Mondeo MK4 Keyless External Button Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi All,

New here, just picked up a 2010 Mk4 and found the drivers external locking button isn't working, passenger and boot work ok, so I was wondering if these buttons can be replaced or if you need a whole new handle?

Thanks in advance!

It's Ford, of course you need a full new handle 🤣

Then it will need painted and fitted 🙄

You can actually quite easily take the handle apart and just swap over the button/antenna.

Thanks guys, managed to source a brand new handle in the correct colour so replaced it today. Drivers and passengers now working but now the boot one has given up! Is that an easy one to change?

Yes quite an easy job the change the boot button/handle assembly. Have a look on eBay you should find what you need for less than £20

Thanks mate, its not the boot release button but the keyless lock button. Looks just like the mk5 boot button but can't seem to release it to check the part number.

That's the one! Any tips on removing or is it a case of removing the rear boot trim to access?

I'm not sure of the correct removal procedure.

I'd probably try popping it out using a thin trim tool myself.  Though removing the trim first would be the safer way to do it.

replaced mine as the rubber had split, when you get a replacement you will see it has one clip so you will know what way to push the switch to pop it out using a flat blade screwdriver
