2009 mondeo wont start

Featured Replies

2009 2.0l tdci wont run with the cluster connected but will when not.

I have already had the cluster repaired.

Any ideas ?

Is it definitely your cluster?  Any chance the repairer might have sent you another Mondeo one by mistake?

Definately my cluster. Originally the cluster died but the car ran. When i went to remove the cluster the next day it powered up but the car wouldnt start. When i removed the cluster the car started without it, but now ive reinstalled it the car wont work unless i disconnect it of course.

Hmm, ok.  That's weird.  I'm not sure what to suggest next unfortunately.  Plugging in to Forscan might give you a useful fault code.  I can't remember coming across this fault before.

Thats the same response from everyone. Ill get it plugged in today and see what comes up. Ill update asap

Thanks

Instrument cluster may be causing a short-circuit on the Canbus network when it is plugged in. That would kill all communication and prohibit the car starting.

With the ignition off, measure the resistance of the Canbus network at the OBDII port, it should be 60 Ohm.
