Noise from fuel pump / filter at ignition on

I feel this one is possibly self inflicted, somehow…

Regular readers will know I have had my car a couple of weeks and one niggle was that I felt it was holding back a little during acceleration.

Fuel filter seemed like a cheap / easy thing to change to see if it helped. The good news is that it seems to have smoothed out the acceleration which is great… however… one thing I have noticed is that when I turn on the ignition (but not start the car) there is a few second of fast tapping / buzzing I assume from the fuel system. It’s only a couple of seconds and then stops. The car starts and drives fine.

Any idea what I might have done wrong? Did I not purge all of the air?

Cheers!
