Coolent Temp Sensor - Not Open Circuit

Featured Replies

Hello all,

My First post!

I have a ford KA MK1 - 2007 (1.3 Duratec)

It was having problems starting cold and I eventually found this to be related to the coolent temp sensor via my obd reader.

It was showing the coolent temp reading at around 50c.

While replacing the sensor, I checked what happened to the reading with it being disconnected.

But, it did not go open circuit and show the default value of -40.  Instead it showed a value of around 28c.

With the new sensor connected, it is showing a lower value, still around 28c and it starts better.

But it seems like there is an issue here with the wiring/cabling.

Where do I look next? The end clip to the cabling?
