Window Screen Wiper Issue

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2016 Ford Ka and I have an issue with the fast continous window wiper setting.

It works normally when set to intermittent or slow continous, but when I was driving a few weeks ago it gave up when set to fast and will now no longer move (or if it does move it moves very slowly) on this setting.

Someone I know suggested changing the relay, but looking online I don't think my model has relays.

Just wondered if anyone might know what was up and if there is an easy fix I can try before taking it to a mechanic?

Thanks

Check the switch, could be a dirty contact

Do they move at all when switched on ?

Wipers on wifes 2015 KA seized at the spindles.

I have put a full explanation on here somewhere. But basically stripped them down, cleaned the spindles, grease all the moving bits.

Rebuilt and all has been good.

A basic meter will tell you if you have voltage at the wiper motor connector. Just keep body parts away from anything that may move.

Most of the time they don't move at all on that setting, but on the odd occasion they do move it is very slowly and judders a lot!

Thank you I will have a look through and see if I can find your instructions!
