Hi, just got my 2016 mondeo 1.5 D. Looking to change the oil but access to the oil filter housing seems covered by two coolant pipes. Does one of these need to come off? can't find any info on this procedure for this model online. Thanks

The coolant hoses are flexible.  You can just push them out of the way to get the filter through.

Thanks Tom, have you done a few of these on a 1.5? just seemed really tight to get my hand in there (oo-er).

Not personally, no.  But it's very similar to the 1.6, of which I have done several.

This is a messy oil filter to replace unfortunately, be ready with some tissue as it will drip all over the pipes there.

If you have never done one of these before, be careful how you replace the filter.

When you remove the filter cap, the filter will come out with the cap. Loosen the cap, pull it up a little, and you will hear oil from the housing draining into the sump. Wait till this stops before fully removing the filter, then drain the sump.

When refitting the filter, fit it into the housing first, making sure the protrusion on the bottom of the filter goes into the drain hole in the housing. Then, refit the filter cap, being sure not to overtighten it.

If you don't fit the filter properly, there is every chance the protrusion will not go into the hole, the filter will collapse, and you will have no, or low, oil pressure.
