2017 Kuga 1.5 TDCI - stuttering at 1800rpm

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

We have a small but somewhat irritating issue with our Kuga.

If you're cruising along at 1800rpm, in any gear, and you feather the throttle very gently, it will stumble/stutter, as if it is misfiring or losing power momentarily.

If you are more deliberate with the throttle, it doesn't happen. If you're above or below 1800rpm, it doesn't happen. It otherwise runs perfectly - it starts nicely, it idles beautifully, it accelerates cleanly right the way through the rev range.

The only thing that might be noteworthy is it has only been noticeable since the turbo was replaced a couple of months ago, but the garage who did the work have since looked at it, double-checked their work, and given it a once over and there are no apparent issues. There are no error codes nor anything showing in Forscan that indicates any issues

I have cleaned the MAF and MAP sensors. They were filthy, but it didn't help. I have yet to clean the EGR valve as that's more of an involved job.

Thanks!

Hi.

Did you get to the bottom of this issue? I have one in with a similar issue. Been looking at this Kuga on and off for 12 months for this concern. Have never been able to reproduce concern until today. Was accelerating lightly out of an island and it hesitated/stumbled/stuttered for les than a second but didn't do it again. No DTC's.

Any information would be appreciated

Graham
