2015 Kuga Audio system fault. (ACM repair?)

Featured Replies

Good evening all

I have been asked to look at a 2015 Ford Kuga, he has mentioned the following intermittent faults:

- no sound through any speakers on any input

- radio stuck on DAB. FM does not work

- parking sensors intermittently not working

- CD player accepts a disc, but no sound at all

- Phone connectivity seems to work, but again, no sound.

- before the speakers stopped working, he noticed a popping sound

The prime suspect so far seems to be the audio control module which I believe is the amplifier unit.

The car has the Sony head unit with the small LCD screen near the windscreen. Sorry I'm not sure which version of Sync this is?

Have scanned the car and there are no fault codes in the ACM. He said the faults have been intermittent and have gradually got worse. The battery failed a couple of months ago, the issues started just before then, and got worse just after the battery was replaced. Probably coincidental

A company called Revtronics seem to offer a repair service.

The other option seems to be getting a new unit from Ford which will require programming. This would be an expensive guess.

Has anyone encountered similar faults before?

Thank you
