Hi all. I have bypassed my AC compressor on my 09 Mk4 2l diesel Mondeo, as bearings are shot. thought I'd share this as there is no information on this and it might help someone out who has same symptoms or any other AC problem, work around as a temp solution but for me It'll be permanent. Belt size is 6pk1215, I'll share routing image.

 

 

The belt will slip on the alternator when it is under load. Anything less than a 120 degree wrap around the pulley will result in slip, and belt wear.

I'm guessing it'd make a noise when it slips?.

Sometimes but not always. It will happen when the alternator has a heavy load on like the heated screens, headlights, blower motor etc. You may see the alternator charge light flicker on and off.

Running under light loads should be fine.

I had read about slippage on the alternator which is why, for anyone else, I put temp solution... as for my self I have not encountered any issue though I will be monitoring now. Cheers for the info dude!.
