This car has been family owned since new and is an X reg.

I've always thought it to be a late Mk2. Now I am looking for a Parcel shelf suppliers are telling me it is a Mk1 ?

So which is it ? 🤔

Similar confusing situation to the Fiesta here. The first generation Mondeo was heavily face-lifted in late 1996 and the facelift is usually referred to, in the UK at least, as a Mk 2, though some sources refer to it as a Mk 1 so always best to quote the fullest details you have when sourcing parts. https://www.evanshalshaw.com/blog/the-evolution-of-the-ford-mondeo/

As an example of confusion, most on here would refer to the 2000-on generation as the Mk 3, but the RAC used car guide calls it a Mk 2!

Yea, those two links do contradict each other !

With it being late Mk2 I could understand it if they said it a Mk3.

If I put in reg' it comes back as Mk3, if I call then they tell me it a Mk1.

I will call it a late Mk2, then send pictures to prove it.

Either way those that say they have parcel shelves show pic's of the 2000 - 07 model. 🤔
