Hi!

My car had the EML come on so I scanned with Forscan and found 2 errors, EGR `A stuck open and P0299 Underboost. The logical step for me seemed to be to replace the EGR and see if it cure the underboost issue. I have a new EGR here, but for the life of me I cant find where it goes on the engine! All the videos I have seen of people replacing show it is under the fuel filter, but after removing this it is nowhere to be seen and I am now stuck. Any help would be appreciated 🙂

    It is there but further down.  Roughly the height of the top of the gearbox.

    You may have been watching videos for the older 16v engine.  Yours is the newer 8v engine.

    Thanky ou for the reply. It does seem every video has been different to my engine, I had no idea there was any difference in the 1.6`s used. Might be better off going in from underneath? Seems I may have done a lot of work not required lol.

    No, I'd still go in from the top.  You may have bought the wrong valve if it looks like those videos.  The 8v EGR is a different shape.

    Finally got a few minutes spare and you were right, it was the EGR valve you sent the link for. Spooted it real quick once I knew what i was looking, so thanks for the help! Just have to order the right part as the EGR I was sent must be for the 16v engine and not my 8v. Posted some pictures in case anyone else has the same issue. Thanks again!

    Car is all back together after dismantling EGR and soaking the mechanical valve in petrol overnight and then cleaning thoroughly next day. Happy to say EML is now off and car seems to be running fine again.
