lifting rear of Mondeo

Featured Replies

My next job on my old MK4 mondeo, im hoping that i will be brave enough to try the fuel filter change.

I know its at the rear just by the fuel tank and ive a fluid extrator to prime the lines again. But for me acess is trickey raised curb one side and busy main road the other side.

So im going to ask before i give up on this job could i jack the whole rear end of the car on the rear subframe thinking of placing jack under the blue section. Then placing axel stands either under the lower arms in green or on the pinch weld.

More curious then anything, worse case i would get it book in come MOT time.

Have you got to remove the wheels, or if not, then how about reversing it onto some ramps?

I've just found this YouTube guide, what a stupid place to put a fuel filter!

Yeah silly place lol, just got a trolly jack and axel stand. Was hoping be able to lift the whole rear end in one go then just place the stands either side or on pinch weld seem. Was worth a try to ask. Thank your for replying.

Sorry I'm a mk3 man, and estate at that, BUT there's a bucket load of experience on the MK4 on the Talkford.com site, why not enquire on there?

I've just done a Google search on the site using this search string and got loads of possibly helpful results...have a browse before you commit!

If that's a picture of your actual car then the backbox mount is broken.

Not my actual car i nicked the picture from google just ask the question

Yes, you can jack up the rear end on that beam.

I did this at the weekend, placed an axle stand under each of the rear springs and let her own gently.
