2008 Ford Mondeo Limp Mode + DTC codes

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I hope some of you can help me with this problem. I got a 2008 Mondeo(i love it so much) but unfortunately when i drive on the highway's the car goes into limp mode and the ESP turns off while I'm in the 5th or 6th gear at speeds above 100km/h. It's not consistent as well, sometimes the cars drives perfectly with no problems at high speeds but sometimes i just cant go more thank 2 km's on the highway without limp mode being enabled.
I looked in the hidden diagnostic menu and found these 2 codes.

DTC #01 C41568

DTC #02 C41668

Can i have a little help to what they mean and a possible fix?
(Sorry for the bad English, it's not my native language)

Those codes are meaning less.

You need the real Ford specific DTC's which you can get using FORScan.

You need a Windows Laptop, the software FORScan (free) and a 'vLinker FS' connecting cable and then you can read the Ford diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's)

FORScan: https://www.forscan.org/download.html

vLinker FS: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP

I just went to a buddy of mine with an OBD2 and found the next codes: U040.1648 and B1B69.1608.
Any clue on what they are as I'm not that good with car repairs in general.

Thank you and i appreciate the quick response.

The code Uxxx is a communication error on the Canbus system. It simply means that data that is being sent between modules is not able to be read. Codes that begin "U" are not  in themself a fault, they are usually just the result of a fault elsewhere.

The code B1B69 is a generic code meaning that the ABS system has a problem. The car battery voltage is possibly low. You need to measure the battery terminal voltage with a multimeter and check it is at least 60% or better.

Well those are the only errors i got. Can a faulty ABS cause the problems i have? (limp mode)

Unless you use either FORScan or a Ford main dealers diagnostic equipment you are not going to be able to read the Ford specific codes.

Check the vehicle battery voltage with a multimeter !!!!!

Yes a problem with the ABS system can cause limp mode, but that does not mean the fault is with the ABS pump.

Sorry didn't get to answer faster, since i don't own a multimeter and i remembered the hidden diagnostic menu had a battery level checker so i went ahead and i got 11.4 if that helps you.
I don't see how checking the battery voltage could help, but thanks for the help.
