Afternoon all,

I’ve recently bought my first Ford, actually used this site for a heap of research before reaching a decision.
I’ve got a 62 plate Mondeo, 2.0 auto, and it’s the smoothest car I’ve ever driven. If it wasn’t for the date on the number plate, and the semi outdated radio I’d never believe it was 12 years old!

The radio is actually what brings me here - in the next month or so, I’m hoping to install a new infotainment system, primarily for accessing maps (don’t like having phone in a holder on windscreen). I’ve found plenty of systems that fit my budget (although further suggestions always welcome), my question is to do with the stock stereo and fascia. I’ve attached a pic of my stereo, and you’ll see that the edges are curved, and it narrows towards the bottom. I’m up to speed with what wiring adapters I might need, and which harness will fit in my car, but as all the aftermarket systems are rectangular. I might be missing something really obvious here, but does this leave me with a situation where there will be gaps around the screen, or the unit itself will protude? Any advice gratefully received, pictures of your own installations would also be excellent!

Thanks!
