Both.  Dry belt from crank to cam.  Chain between the two cams.

Only the belt has a recommended replacement interval.  125k miles or 10 years.

Hi Alan

Just gone through the same thought process, manual vs auto.

Really wanted an auto and in my quest I found many that have surpassed the milage that I expect to put on a car. But that being said I also had plenty of professional and DIY mechanics give me their thoughts on the Powershift box.

But as I had no prime examples of faliure on Edge models it didn't help.

In the end I went manual with an St-Line spec.

Didn't have all the bells and whistles that my heart wanted but my head won by hoping that what I do have will be more reliable.

Still early days of ownership for me, so time will tell.

Hope you find a good car with plenty of history.

For me I did a VCheck on a few candidates. Checked the mot history and used the info to ensure the garage I bought from checked or changed any potential issues. This also gives me knowledge of things to keep an eye on. Tyres, brakes and wiper blades were the usual neglected items.

Regards Steve

Fuel filter and air filter are both recommended every 36k or 4 years.
