Hi guys.

Very soon to take ownership of this having had my 2022 fiesta st line vignale stolen while I was at work last week :-((

108k miles. Pretty substantial service history available. Cam belt and water pump done at 70k miles.

Is there anything I should be looking out for when I go to see it?

So far I know I want to update the head unit so I've got Android auto. Seen lots online would be great if anyone has any recommendations?

Thanks very much,

Allan

I've used a DiskLok for over a decade, have never found it difficult to apply or remove?

Check the clutch & DMF.

Also check the air con works.

And listen out for creaky rear suspension.

Yes !!

Who's gonna steal a 15 year old Mondeo?  Surely not the same people stealing Mk8 Fiestas...

Well that was my logic, but I'm not against the idea of one.

I've still no idea how it was taken. Locked. Keyless entry off. 200m+ between key and car.

Ford pass still shows it as where I left it too...

I think the psychology of having a car stolen from you, you'd be eased knowing your current car is as secure as you can make it...

Since experiencing a break in, I don't feel any safer fitting an additional front door lock every time I use the door.  It's just causing me more hassle, and creating a constant visual reminder of that event.  Wish I hadn't started, but it's become a habit now.

As I've said before, if I was worried about a car being stolen, I'd get rid of it and buy a different one.  Not worth the stress.  I appreciate others will have a different view on that.

The media hype has made people obsess over keyless entry and relay theft.  It's still incredibly easy to just bust the door lock open and plug in an OBD tool to override the immobiliser.

I suppose it does effect folk in different ways. When I lived at home, after we were broken in to, we had an intruder alarm fitted, along with a 'makralon' window (polycarbonate) fitted at back where they smashed their way in. Certainly made us feel a lot safer...

Personally I dont think anyone would touch mine(2008 tit x 2.0tdci). As long as I always double lock it. I even took the locking wheel nuts off because the key was about to break. 3 years of owning it, no one has touched it.

Dont know if you have already bought it but just a couple of jobs a got done on mine. 1st was the DMF that started to rattle and vibrate after about 1 year. It had no affect in the way it drove so i ignored it for about 6 months but then it was getting a little too loose to the point of everyone turning around to see what was sounding a bag of nails. Got it done for£650 all in after some horrendous quotes. The rear trailing arm bushes started tell tale squeaking "they all do that guv", yes they really all do. Not only was it really annoying especially when I had passengers in the back they failed the mot. The only other problem was having boosting issues that turned out to be the STUPID plastic front intake hose that was split on the top. Crazy to see that Ford wanted £75 for a replacement😱😱😱, so i just ordered a silicone hose from ebay for £25 I think and has been on there for about year and a half. It was only meant to be a stop gap for my Audi a4, but I do actually love it, even through the dull and boring nature of the name, because of the level of equipment makes the Audi look almost basic. Already thinking of of another Mondeo and probably a 2.5 and a bit of tuning to scare a couple of BMW 'swell heads'.

Good luck
