Front sub frame

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, has anyone had to replace a front sub frame on a mk4 facelift Mondeo?

I've been told mine borderline advisory/fail when next mot is due.

Does anyone know the correct part number? And are they all the same? Reason I ask is that I've seen a couple advertised as "for mk4 petrol and diesel", mine is the 2.2 tdci titanium x sport.

Thanks in advance.

Take a look on catcar.info

Select Ford, enter your vin then browse through the parts diagrams and part numbers.

Not all the same.  One for standard suspension.  One for sport suspension.  And then 2.0 EcoBoost Powershift is different again.

I'm not sure whether Titanium X Sport gets sports suspension or whether it's just a sportier looking bodykit?

As for replacing them, I can't remember seeing any needing replaced on here.  If you live in a particularly salty, coastal area then that can cause more rust underneath than normal.

The TXS gets the same dampers as the other trim levels but with shorter springs to lower the ride height.
