Desperately need advice

Featured Replies

Hi all recently brought a 2010 galaxy with the auto box, initially had issues with it going into limp home mode. That issue was resolved with a crank and cam sensor

now the car just stalls no warning lights nothing. It’s at any speed, doesn’t matter it’s it’s in auto or manual

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Need a bit more info.

Does it restart immediately after the stall?

Does the dashboard and radio continue to work or does everything go dark?

Just to add, it has only done it since the crank and cam sensors were changed.

before the sensors were changed it would go into limp home mode

”transmission service required “

thanks again

Hmm, ok, you'll need to have the fault codes read again unfortunately.  And it needs to be something Ford specific such as Forscan, not just a generic OBD scanner, regardless of the cost or brand.

I was hoping it might just be a battery fault or a loose connection but doesn't sound like that now.

Sounds to me as if the crank and cam sensors were not the problem, but they are now. Changing both would always just indicate a guessing game, the likelihood of both being faulty at the same time is almost zero.

As Tom has already said you need to use FORScan to get the Ford specific DTC's.

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.
