Hi all

I am the director of Tiger Racing Ltd and we manufacture various Tiger kit cars which have been built over the last 30 years using Ford engines.  The cars have to go through an Individual vehicle approval test ( IVA ) and prove the year of the engine.

I am trying to Find a contact so I can get letters from a ford owners club clarifying the year of the old Ford Sierra engines fitted, DVSA have said they will accept this ( most people used sierras as a donor vehicle to build a car )  with the new cars we build we use brand new Ford engines so its not required for those.

DVSA used to accept the codes from the Burton power catalogue but no longer do. 

Can anyone help with this please or point me in the right direction

I may be completely wrong, but is not the first two letters of the engine number the build month ?

So January 1983 would be BC 12345.  B=1983, and C= January.
