hanging throttle + deadspot 2006 STtdci

Featured Replies

my 2006 ST TDCI sometimes has a dead spot when changing gear (when letting the clutch out and pressing accelerator) and now the revs sometimes hang upto 2500rpm when changing, wondered if anyone has experienced this or knows a solution before i start buying stuffs? google helped 0%

thanks

If it's only an issue when changing gear then I'd start with the clutch switch.

The cruise control one?

Yes.  It's also used by the PCM for rev matching between gears.  There may be more than one switch on the pedal if the car has cruise control.

If you've got a multimeter it's easy to test once removed.

Use the continuity setting across the two pins then press and release the switch to see if it makes and breaks continuity.  If there's no change when pressed then the switch is broken.

got it out, tested it on a multimeter and it was only working with it pressed all the way in and not all the time...felt really gritty the full travel, cleaned it and its working a bit better now and is smooth

This is the switch I've removed and cleaned up with electric cleaner. Only one that was on the pedal
