Keys not working to unlock car or start with keyless start

Featured Replies

Hey everyone

This has been driving me crazy for weeks now and hope someone can help.

Neither of my keys for car is working to unlock my cmax or to allow keyfree start up, currently using blade to unlock car and the ignition slot to be able to start car.

I have investigated the issues and understand first point was to replace the external receiver, which has now been replaced, also checked the fuse, which was fine but replaced anyway.

I am using Forscan and have found both keys I have are programed to car and showing fine, but have a error code U201F open circuit.  Please could anyone point me in the next direction of where to go with this, I want to avoid going to ford dealer as have read so many times that people have gone to ford for this, been charged over £300 and still not fixed so want to try and avoid throwing money away,

Just to add, this is a Cmax 2011 1.6 Titanium

Think you'll need a wiring diagram for the external receiver plug.

We can rule out the power wire and the fuse as it's working well enough to provide the fault code.

Many thanks for the reply, i will see what I can find, but what then would I be looking for? Originally when I removed the old receiver I noticed that one of the pins had snapped, so I instantly assumed that was the problem, the receiver didn't even show up prior to replacing, so having the new one in has cleary done something as its now showing.

I'm not sure how many pins are in the receiver plug, let alone where they go.  I would need to see the correct wiring diagram to work it out before being able to advise further.  Others on here may know more about this particular module though.

It's good to know you found a broken pin...means there's obviously been some sort of 'damage' caused in that area so the other fault isn't likely to be far away.

Try the following. Unlock car with key and try to start. If it starts see if this has not reset the immobiliser.

Alternatively when I had an issue a new car battery resolved my issues. Ps I also had to replace my remote receiver in the roof lining. Had the same issue with pins getting eroded form the moisture in the air.
