Power loss

Featured Replies

Hi I have just purchased a 2016 kuga with the 1.5 turbo eco boost engine. The car has all of a sudden lost power under acceleration. Car still starts and runs fine just no power. There are no lights on dash or no faults showing. Is anyone able to help. Thanks

This sounds like limp mode so there should be a stored fault code on the ECU.  You will need Ford specific diags to read it.  Either Forscan or Ford dealer.

You could jack it up to see if any of the brakes have got stuck on, as a physical fault rather than an engine restriction, but that is a bit of a long shot.

No codes stored whatsoever. Runs fine until power is required then nothing. Suspect fuel issue, actual fuel pressure is lower than supposed to be. Booked into ford now.

How's the coolant level?

Coolant level fine. Suspected fuel issue still needs to be diagnosed
