Resetting the BMS after new battery fit.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

fitted a new battery to my 2013 B Max 1.4 petrol manual and all went well.

However, I’ve not managed to reset the Battery Management System.

i tried the 5 x Main beam, 3 times brakes a few times, but no flashing battery indicator light.

i even tried the Focus method pressing rear fog and hazards, again, no joy.

Does anybody have any experience of this.

cheers and thanks !

First question, did you have the drivers door closed ?

Next you have to wait at least 20 seconds, sometime more than 30 seconds before the battery light flashes. Were you being too quick ?

It's just occurred to me, are you sure that your 2013 B-Max actually has a BMS sensor fitted ?
