Kuga blow off valve

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I have a kuga 2014 titanium x 2L tdi auto.

What a mouthful lol. Anyway I want to swap out the blow off valve to one that adds more swussssh. However, it seems very hard to find the correct one online and all the videos I see online seem to be mostly on the 1.5 tdi version. The one I found that was definitely a 2L they had used one for a focus. Has anyone tried and tested this?

Thanks

Why what?

Why ?

A diesel engine does not have a throttle valve, so a normal dump/blow off valve will not work at all.

I believe you can fit an electronic operated dump valve, which is probably what you've found, it will produce the sound of one but will not do anything to the performance of the car. I have even heard they actually decrease performance slightly when gear changing, and could even damage the turbo, as it dumps more pressure than it needs to.

I didn't ask for questions why. Why do people want big alloys or loud exhausts. Because they want them.

If small minded people have nothing decent to say its probably best keeping quiet lol

Ive been on this forum for a matter of hours and already see who the gimps are 😆

Thank you Jim for a decent answer although there are many videos on YouTube of diesels with them but I will definitely take on board what you have said as I don't want to damage the turbo.

It seems pretty pointless in an auto, as you don’t get the natural breaks in transmission, where the desired swooosh will actually happen.

Oh really.. I never thought that would make a difference but it makes sense. Thank you
