Push button start won’t work

Featured Replies

Hey all sorry in advance for the long post but need urgent advice for this situation….
I have a 2010 ford max with push start keyless entry system,

Problem started with my husband accidentally putting a 25 gallon drum of what he thought was diesel in it to help us out as I rely on my car for work, what he did not know was it was mixed with water and after driving it up the road it broke down I then had it towed home and after a few weeks of no car my brother was able to take it and drop the fuel tank change fuel filter and fix a few other issues etc etc to get it going again however it now won’t start at all he has nothing coming up on diagnostic test at all, starter is fine and it’s been checked same as battery and fuses but still nothing to get it to turn over….
I’ve been told that it’s more than likely the pats system has activated and that replacing the keys will fix the issue ? Other then that their is no mechanical problem am I wasting my money on paying an auto lock smith or could it be anything else I am just not wanting to give it up as despite the age she has only 93,000miles on clock…

please help thanks

Someone sensible will be along soon, but in the mean time, new keys will absolutely not solve your problem! Does the car turn over, but not start? Or, is it 100% dead? If so, have you checked the battery with a multimeter as you say it was left for several weeks so a flat battery could be the culprit...

Try unlocking the car with the hidden key. The metal shaft. Then open and try to start the car within 5 secs. This could resolve the issue if the car is not starting.

I'd not waste any time replying
