So i have a tapping noise but not constant behind the back seat area offside.i have removed the parcel shelf trim support to find nothing.iv driven with back seats folded down removed spare wheel+ jack.still tapping  the car as been up on ramps had suspension checked all good.i did have some work done last year on my rear heated window bad earth wire which would have involved removing trim around tailgate for access .any ideas please 

I have the same thing, I had a good look around google search and found it is a common problem with the strut. If you jack the car up and take a look at the top of the strut, there is a plastic cap covering a nut, that apparently is not tightened correctly. I checked mine and it has a bit of play so I am going to ask my local garage to tighten it, I did try but I didn't want to strip the nut. I hope it works because its really ***** annoying.
