Mystery Pipe

Featured Replies

I recently found a pipe in my engine tray, and wanting to know where it connect too, seems to be some sort of drain off pipe, can't find anything on the internet of what this pipe is, but I found it on a you tube video (snapshot attached)

Could somebody point me in the right direction of what this pipe is, where it connect too and how easy is it to reconnect from under the car

thank you for any help you wonderful lot can pass on 🙂

Can't you follow the pipe to where it's connected ?

It's the fuel filter water drain pipe.  That's the correct setup, the bottom end doesn't connect to anything.

sorry should have explained better the pipe is not connected to anything it was sitting in my splash tray with neither side connected to anything, I wanted to connect it back up to where ever it connects to for the drainage

hope that make sense

Oh I see.  I wouldn't bother, it'll never be used anyway.  How many times have you seen the 'water in fuel' light come on?  I drove diesels for 10 years in the UK and never saw it once...

If you do want to refit it, it just pushes on to a small nipple on the bottom of the filter housing.  I don't know what the visibility or access is like on the Edge.
