Key not detected, diesel Kuga 2012

Featured Replies

Key not detected case...diesel Kuga 2011. I inadvertently disconnected the wires of the KVM module at the back of the car on the left under the trim, when I thought the fault was in that module, when neither of the keys worked. When I noticed that the transmission level of the keys was just too low, I put the KVM module back. After this, however, the keys still did not work and the message "key not detected" continued... the system does not go into power mode... the indicator lights on the dashboard do not light up. I checked with ForScan, there are no immobilization error messages. I also tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, it didn't help. When the key is inserted into the slot on the stem of the steering wheel..."key not detected" disappears but the engine does not start....only the starter clicks...however, the system goes into power standby mode. How could we move forward, does the PCM etc. have to be reinstalled. Did the KVM module forget the avim codes, how can they be reprogrammed? I can't find any help from ForScan. Is the local Ford shop the only option.

Firstly, charge or replace the 'car' battery.
