Aisin Warner transmission tf-81sc

Featured Replies

Hi all can anyone help , I'm trying to change the transmission oil on my ford mondeo 2.2 tdci sport.

As had it serviced and they thought it was a Powershift transmission like on most of these barr the 2.2 litres

I've got the parts to do the flush a  couple times. And on the oil drain plug the centre plug , crappy t40 star drive was slightly perished and has rounded

I'm trying to find the correct part can anyone help its an aisin Warner awtf-81sc transmission on a 2013 plate

Thanks if you can help

You'd be best off nipping into your local Ford main dealer's parts dept armed with your vin. They might even have the part in stock!

So what are the cockwombles that serviced the gearbox incorrectly doing to resolve the issue?

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 specifies that when supplying a service:

  • The trader must perform the service with reasonable care and skill
  • Information that is spoken or written is binding where the consumer relies on it
  • Where the price is not agreed beforehand, the service must be provided for a reasonable price
  • Unless a particular timescale for performing the service is set out or agreed, the service must be carried out in a reasonable time.

If the service you’re provided does NOT satisfy these criteria, you’re entitled to the following remedies under the Consumer Rights Act:

  • The trader should either redo the element of the service that's inadequate, or perform the whole service again at no extra cost to you, within a reasonable time and without causing you significant inconvenience
  • Or, in circumstances where the repeat performance is impossible, or can’t be done within a reasonable time or without causing significant inconvenience, you can claim a price reduction
    • Depending on how severe the failings are, this could be up to 100% of the cost, and the trader should refund you within 14 days of agreeing that you're entitled to a refund

trouble is they did the service a year and half ago. due to having a work van i dident use my mondeo much, onlyt noticed when oil pan seal started leaking due to wrong trans oil and the start of jolting slightly down from 3rd to 2nd gear.. so far but will get worse if not sorted. has it been to long ?? ive still got receipt for service..

gutted cant beleive they did it

Unfortunately you're out of luck in terms of protection via the Consumer Rights Act.

There's no way of knowing what damage has been done the gearbox but clearly the sooner it gets flushed and refilled, the better your chances of 'getting away with it' i.e. not needing to replace the box.
