What, in your opinion, is my best plan of attack??

Thanks

Personally, i'd lump it and get over it. Doesn't look like it's worth any hassle.

Maybe on a Mk4! :P

But this is down to the metal and i really want it sorted. It drivers side and about an inch long too so i will notice it all the time!

As it is on the door edge a good smart repair should do the trick, they will mask close to the front edge and you won't know it was there Cost about £45

i did the exact same thing with my car and left it for a few months thinking ill get it over it, but everytime i looked at the car i was drawn to it !

i went to halfords and bought a touch up pen kit for 12 pound, just phoned up ford, got my paint code and went down and bot it, worked amazing i must say not noticeable atalll anymore !

Too true, i've got the luxury of knowing whatever happens doesn't matter!!

I did this on a previous car of mine. Get a quote for a smart repair as limbo suggested. Failing that, have a go yourself which is what I did and all was fine. I was patient for once and gradually built up coats, letting each one dry completely before adding the next.

'smart repair' ???

'smart repair' ???

He he! Thought that myself, if I'm being honest. biggrin.gif

Repairs where the offending scratch, dent, tear, is repaired without adding a new part, or treating the whole panel.

Think of it like a tailor's 'invisible mending' only for cars.

Oohh, that's magic! How do you do that?

I probably should just google it huh? :P

Edit: Found it :D
