MK4.5 TXS Strange electrical problem . . HELP!

Featured Replies

Hey folks,

Not long picked up a 63' plate TXS with the Powershift box (the powershift actually works great!)

So this problem has happened twice and nobody can find a fault with the BCM.

Driving along, the car will tell me to engage 'park' and as soon as I come to a stop and put it in park it cuts out, the horn constantly blares out the windows don't work and it won't let me start it again until i disconnect the battery for a couple of mins. What's strange is, both times it's happened, it was when I've operated screen wash!

I've seen this is a common problem with water/screen wash travelling up the wires and going into the BCM but the BCM has been checked twice and there is no damp and no faults with it.

When the horn is constantly blaring, the relay for the horn it's constantly clicking and gets very hot and eventually it pops the fuse.

Any ideas on where to look?

Thanks in advance

My thoughts would be that you do have a fault with the BCM.

It is not always possible to visually see a problem, and of course not all BCM faults involve water.
