Replacement partnumber? 2013 1.6tdci 6speed manual gearbox

HI,
Our gearbox is rattling terribly and the mechanic says it needs replaced. Without having to take the original out first... can anyone tell me the correct gearbox partnumber to look for? I have, I think, narrowed it down to av6r7002 but there seem to be many varied suffixes of 2 or 3 letters (GC, GJ NC, AVC etc.) that I do not understand and I don't want to fork out money for something that does not fit.

 

The car is 2013 6 speed manual 1.6 duratorq diesel 
VIN is wf0jxxwfbjdg22214 and I am in the UK

Any help appreciated!!

    Can you double check that VIN?  One digit may be wrong, it's not working on the parts catalogue or the Ford service site.

    As Tom has already said above, there seems to be an error with the VIN as it is coming back as a 2018 Focus/Mondeo

    Looks like AV6R-7002-GJ was the final manufacturing number used on these. 

    The final letter on yours could be different as that starts at A and goes up through the alphabet for each revision.  Ideally you want a final letter the same or higher than your own.  But realistically I suspect the earlier gearboxes would still be compatible if that's all you can find.  I wouldn't risk changing the 'G' though.
