Hi.

My name is Debz and i've just purchased a 2010 fiesta zetec in the lovely squeeze green 😍.

I'm not new to fiestas though as i started way back with a Popular plus, which gives you an idea of my age,  then an xr2. More recently i had a fantastic EcoBOOM which did as it's name suggests. Dozens of different cars in between but, i just love my fiestas !. Hubby is just out hoovering it out as it was absolutely filthy (not up to our spec anyway).

A few niggly bits to sort but i love it anyway. Couldn't afford an ST but hey ho 😂

EDITED : Yes that is a Mazda on my profile pic 😆. I'll change it once i've got a pic of my new car 😜

Welcome Debbie.

Ah the good old days of the popular. Can still remember the excitement of getting up Butser Hill on the A3 in top gear. Was only doing about 15 MPH when it got to the top and struggling though. To modern cars just a mound.

Yeah, definitely the good old days. Far less things to go wrong with cars in those days, and they were much easier to work on than todays ones. I'm not that physically strong but i will have a go at anything lol. I even did some bodywork in the past and love a challenge. Hopefully this car won't give me too many though 🤣

Welcome to this great group! Four door or two door in the green, lovely colour that green is, we've had this since new but it has it's fair share of problems now it's getting older at 14, loads will have been scrapped by now.

Mine is a 3 door 😊. I'd been looking for a 5 door but when this colour came up i forgot all about that 😂.

I don't doubt i'm going to find plenty of things that need attention, found some already that i wasn't aware of 🙄. Hoping i've not bought a 🍋. She's had a good clean now, well apart from the engine bay 😬, that i might do tomorrow if it doesn't p*ss  down again !.

Three doors in this green colour looks mint, when we first thought about getting one, it was going to be a three door Titanium X, it looked fabulous but then the sales rep asked if we have kids or grand kids! We said yes and he said a two door is advisable as it's a right pain getting the kids in the back plus the doors are wider, risking them from being damaged, went for the four door after the advice, also upgrading the alloys at no extra cost.

From new [2010] until around 2019 it has done well but now we're encountering age issues.... Rust on the lower rear arches/sill bottom edges - Rear spring broke - Front spring broke - Front link arms worn - Both front Wishbones replaced - Trailing arm bushes replaced - Full new exhaust......Now the time is on us that the cambelt needs doing but can't afford it, think this is why most get rid of their older cars as they can't be doing with the hassle.

We don't have a real good history on it, but the cambelt, water pump and a lot was done earlier this year. We have the bill which was over £2k 😬. Going to get our friendly mechanic to put it up on his ramp to give it the once over. Sills and arches seemed ok to me so 🤞. I've done bodywork on previous cars before, except for welding !. One thing i would love to learn to do 🙂.  Main thing at the minute is, i'm not sure if i have a coolant leak !.
