Issue with Long Cranking and Rough Idle on Ford Grand C-Max

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a 2018 Ford Grand C-Max TDCi 2.0 150hp with Start-Stop. In the mornings or after long parking periods, when I turn the key, the engine starts immediately without any issues. However, in cold weather, there’s a loud noise, almost like a bang, during startup, but it still starts in one go.

The issue occurs when the engine tries to restart in Start-Stop mode or when I turn it off and try to start it again after 2-3 minutes. In those cases, it cranks for a long time and sometimes idles roughly. If I turn the engine off and restart, it works normally.

No error or warning lights are displayed.

The battery was replaced one month ago, and I’ve driven 10,000 km without any problems.

What could be the issue?"

Let me know if you'd like to adjust anything!
