Wet belt costs

Featured Replies

Hi, we've just been quoted an eye watering £2000 for a wet belt replacement for our 2017 Cmax 1.0 Ecotec from our North Devon Ford dealer!

Can anyone recommend where I could get this done where I don't have to sell a kidney?

Much appreciated 👍

Was that the infamous "Richad Tupin" Ford dealership ?

Hi Andy,

Bit excessive even for a main dealer! Independents seem to start about half that.

North Devon is not well provided with car repairers, as I recall from trips down there, so you'll probably have to do a bit of googling and/or be prepared to travel. I have seen mention of this one at the other end of the county:

Hopefully someone will know of something a bit nearer.

Hi, I’ve been quoted £1400-£1800. What mileage have you done?

We're at around 55k for a 2017 model.. I know it's early but after hearing some nightmare stories I thought I would check out the costs.

Thank you.

This was highlighted recently on the forum, apology for my lack of geography, probably miles away from you but may be worth an overnight trip?

Just on the outskirts of Stafford, not far from me, 10 mins off J14 M6

Actually, what I meant to say was that my geographical knowledge is excellent, and you'll find this garage quite close to you 🤣
