2018 Ford Kuga - battery drain

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2018 Ford Kuga (2L). Can anyone answer this - If I disable the keyless entry system (for the door handles ) will this action prevent future battery drain problems. I had to replace the drive door handle about 3 months ago and it looks like I have the same fault again. Any advice would be much welcome.

No.  There are other modules draining the battery when parked as well.  It may reduce the problem slightly.

You need to charge the battery with a Smart charger about every 5 weeks. It's just the way modern cars are I'm afraid.

I disabled mine (for other reasons) from day 1. Still get the same battery issues as I did with my previous (non- keyless) Fiesta. Charger every 5/6 weeks as Unofix suggests, though to be fair the car doesn't get driven every day.
