Help

I have a 2016 grand c max. I have just put a new a steering rack on the car. I now have intermittent lights coming on every so often like rear passenger door open and child lock malfunction and I also get tyre pressure sensor monitor not detected and my LCD screen at the Speedo is flickering like mad and some times goes blank and comes back on. I am just wondering if anyone has had the same or similar issues as I don't want to keep changing things and throwing money at it and it does r fix the problems. I have done a little bit reading and some things are throwing a bad earth and others are saying the battery and others Re saying gem could have water ingress. Any help would be greatly appreciated

After doing all the work on your car there is a good chance that the battery voltage will be low. Check it with a multimeter and if below 12.30V charger it with a Smart Charger for 12 hours.

If the battery voltage is good, then disconnect the negative lead of the battery for 20 minutes before reconnecting it. That will cause all modules to fully reboot in the correct sequence.

That's great thanks I will try this and now my passenger door is also stuck locked now and won't open so I don't know if it's a fuse for that. My car has no problem starting.

There is no fuse for that. It is controlled from the BCM.

That's great thanks do you know if I can buy a second hand bcm and get it reprogrammed

The door lock problem is more likely a broken wire in the harness between the door pillar and the door. Or the door lock module itself. If it was a BCM fault it would most likely be affecting more than just one door.

My door has now unlocked it's self and working properly and now not showing that the door is open do u think it's the bcm
