Pre collision assist not available

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2016 ford edge sport and everytime I start it it shows up on the dash pre collision assist not available. Would anyone know what would be causing this?

If that's the only fault coming up then it's worth checking the radar hasn't got knocked behind the front bumper.

Also worth checking the windscreen is clear if you have a forward facing camera that may be part of the system.

The windscreen is clear will check behind the bumper. Would you know the location of the radar?

I don't know exactly on the Edge.  They are usually low down in the grill and right in the centre.  Usually it's a very obvious square plastic box.

Are you a new keeper or it just popped up on dashboard?
You will need to DTC from Forscan in order to know what is happening.

If code B142E (most common) it could be a loose bracket or need new radar

Dyzmen thanks for the reply I've had the edge coming up to a year now and it has just started to pop up probably this past few months. Once your press ok on the steering wheel it clears the message on the dash until the next time you start it again. I've attached the fault code that I think might have something to do with it.

It could be anything from ABS to wire or any related module

What about other faults? Check them as well one may leads to another.
Any Forscan programming in recent past?
