Hi there my question is is the APIM update the same for 2018 ecosport, and a ford 2015 kuga . Are they the same to download on a USB stick or are the updates completely different,  and if I download the wrong file would it be harmful for my ecosport.  Thank you for your time

    It fully depends on which SYNC system both cars have.

    A 2015 Kuga can have the SYNC 1.1 system or the SYNC 2 system.

    A 2018 Ecosport can have the SYNC 1.1, SYNC 2.5 or SYNC 3 system.


    Only if both cars have the old SYNC 1.1 system (which is very unlikely) they will use the same update files. In all other cases the update files are not compatible.

    The bit I am worried about is if I update my ecosport with the wrong files , as in I have sync 3 and want to update it to 3.5 or what ever it is , but if I update with wrong files would it be harmful to my car system and damage it. Or would it just not exept it and stay as it originally was .thanks
