Cmax power steering leak

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Last week I noticed a power steering fluid leak from my 2008 cmax. Which ended up being the power steeering pressure switch leaking out of the top of the sensor into the wiring connector. I replaced the switch but then ended up with my engine surging whilst driving but only when using the steering. So I replaced the switch again thinking I may have had a faulty part. However with the second switch I am having the same problem. The connector from the wiring loom was soaked in power steering fluid. Does anyone know if the connection could possibly be damaged? I’m a bit stumped. Thanks everyone 👍

Yes, the wiring can get damaged by oil being forced into it through a broken plug.  If that has happened, you will need to cut off the damaged part and fit a new section of wiring with plug there.
