Service Itinerary

Featured Replies

Good afternoon. I have a Ford Edge Vignale. It is coming up for its service. The service is service 4. Can any one tell me what is included in this service please.

My vehicle is a 2018 Vignale the milage is 53,627 miles. Service 4 in the service book should either be 72,000 miles,8 years or 18,000 from the last service. As you can see my vehicle has quite a low mileage for the year. My last service mileage was 36,414 the mileage now is 53,627. Therefore it's coming up to 18,000 first.

Can anyone tell me what this service should include? It's got a 2.0 litre Duratec diesel engine with a 6 speed automatic gearbox.

Why I'm asking this question is. My last service was buggered up with the fuel filter not being changed (it was sorted after a discussion). The dealership told me it goes on either year of the vehicle or the service number NOT the mileage of the vehicle.

I think the saying is. Forewarned to what I should expect on this service will be to my advantage.

Thank you Scooby.

Hi,

It should be based on years or mileage, whichever is lowest.  But as that's been messed up on this car, it's difficult to know which to choose this time.  What date was the last service?

If they did the 3rd service last time, that shouldn't have included fuel filter replacement.

List for 4th service:

*Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter.

*Auto trans fluid & filter

*Wheels-off brake check

For future reference, the cambelt is recommend replaced at 125k miles or 10 years, whichever first.

(PS - It's Duratorq for diesel.  Duratec is petrol.)

Thank you Tom. Yes they did leave the fuel filter replacement. I got the fuel filter replaced by my local garage. Only because the dealership would not do this free of charge although they did do this at time of my service.

I took a Ford dealership 6 year service plan out. When I took it out. I explained my vehicle was a low mileage vehicle so the mileage would never be Ford service recommendations. The two year would come first also I'm a low mileage motorist, therefore the 18,000 probably not be reached.

There was no mention that Ford motor company on purchasing the 6 year service plan also as 1,2,3,4 service schedules running alongside the year of the vehicle. The only thing mentioned was a 2 year or 18,000 which ever come first.

Thank you once again for your help with my query. When I book my vehicle in I now know what should be carried out in my next service.

Take care👍.

Kind Regards.

Scooby.
