fiesta 2016 1.25 zetec temp gauge problem

Hi ,My 2016 Fiesta 2016 seems to have an intermittent problem. About once or twice a weak the temp gauge ( the 8 little bar version) doesnt work or register.The car runs fine and goes up to  temp fine .If i turn the engine on and off the guage works fine straight away and goes to 4 bars.As i said this only happens a few times a week usually from a clod start
