Hi, just shopping for engine coolant for my Grand C-max, 64 plate (the last of the previous style, not the newer shape), 1.6 petrol 150 bhp and I have no idea what spec I need so Would appreciate advice, please? Also I’m worried that she’s started using coolant as she’s been such a trooper that’s never needed anything more than tyres and brakes but at 10 years old I think she’s going to start costing me. But I’d miss those sliding doors for the kids…

Ford spec: WSS-M97B44-D

The coolant should have been replaced at 10 years old along with the cambelt.

There is a common fault with this engine that leads to headgasket failure, though it's definitely worth checking around the waterpump, thermostat housing and reservoir for any external leaks first.

Thanks, we’ve noticed some drips on the driveway, more than the previous air con condensation, so now need to work out where it’s from…
