Cruicecontrol. Ford C-max 1,0-125HK/ECO-BOOST/ 2014 model

Featured Replies

I would like to fix cruicecontrol, but do not understand where the fault is. Do I have to change the module on the steering wheele? can someone point me in right direction

Do the codes indicate I bought a scrap car or is it easy to fix?

That fault code isn't enough to confirm a specific part.

You could change the steering wheel module and hope that fixes it.  But it could equally be quite a few other parts or even a wiring fault.

Well your profile says you're driving a Transit 2005, but your question is posted in the Ford C-Max forum !

Has this fault just happened or has it always been broken while you have owned it ?

Maybe it is a bad connection somewhere. I tried to activate Cruicecontrol a few times and sometimes it turn on, but after driving som kilometers it turns of again. I have not been able to contact previous owner to ask if he had the problem. Perhaps its easy to fix.

I forgot to change my profile. I have a C-max now I just bought it. I have owned it for a month so do not know how long it has been broken.

I got the answer the  good old fashioned way.

I searched multiple forums and search engines, but I find it strange that no one has had this issue before or was able to provide a solution—or maybe they just didn’t bother to respond.

Here is the solution for future reference that worked for me. I’ve been driving the car for a few days now, and the cruise control is working fine.

Manual Calibration (Simple Reset)

  1. Start the car and make sure the steering wheel is straight.
  2. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and hold for a few seconds.
  3. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and hold for a few seconds.
  4. Center the steering wheel again and turn off the ignition.
  5. Restart the car and check if the issue is resolved.

I had to do this just yesterday after a battery change on my VW.

I've never seen it being needed on Fords before.  At least we will know for future now.
