Hi guys

Been on a few longer trips than normal recently and my maps are clearly way out of date.   The Wifi sync said I was up to date, the website said I wasn't.   I updated Sync 3 to the latest version via USB, uploaded the log file which then allowed me to check for Map updates. Offered me a Map download  BUT....

The download zip file is only 48kb - so clearly not a proper update file.

My Sync Build is 3.0.23219

My Map version is EU 4 14

Any assistance appreciated as planning a road trip later in the month.  I did see something on a Facebook group which suggested the Ford website was 'pointing to the wrong file' and would be fixed shortly, but then I have also seen some quite old posts about this 'small file' issue too.

At least you managed to update sync, i tried and failed so i gave up.

I wasnt trying to update maps, only the sync3. Cant update maps until sync3 is updated first.

did you upload the log (xml) file after it completed, or did it fail to complete?

the site wasn't happy until I uploaded the log

I sat with engine running for 1 and a half hours and it never completed. Just kept saying software upgrade in progress. I wasnt prepared to idle my engine any longer. Never got as far as XML file upload.

It can take a long time to update. Be patient .  Take it for a drive.  XML file needs to be uploaded back to Ford site. 

This has been like this for a while, I've been trying to update my maps as it says they are out of date, you download the file and export it to a usb drive and it doesn't create all the files, It's also way too small to be a proper update as it is only 46kb even when extracted to a drive. This keeps happening with updates and it seems to take them months to sort it out!

Yup, but after the updates have completed. They never have, im not going to waste my time anymore it can just stay the way it is. Remember I WASNT trying to update maps, only Sync 3 20-30 minutes supposedly......aye right.

I update with no issues using a "different" 🫣 way that can be found on TheTube 🤫

I did an online chat with Ford today - they said that my maps were updated on Saturday wirelessly ( I updated the Sync via USB as the wifi version stated I was up to day but the website said differently ) , they stated that I am now on F11 maps and that they would remove the small file and that it shouldn't be on their website.   they couldn't answer how I can tell if I am on F11 or not - I suspect not - my 'About Sync' screen shows my map version as EU 4 14.     

F11 seems to be old, I would have expected you to be updated to F12 by now.

The screen will show what map version you have.
