Hi all, I'm hoping that someone can assist me with a problem I am having. I have the engine management light up on this vehicle and tried a code reader to see what could be wrong. I have tried two separate aftermarket readers, all stating valid for UK ford but none of them will work. I have done some diagnostics at the EOBD plug but can't find a battery or a switch live. the plug only has about eight cables going to it. I am trying to locate a wiring diagram for power distribution, I've checked all fuses both in the engine bay and the awkward one behind the glovebox and all are ok. the car starts and runs well but I just want to understand what may be causing the issue, anyone have any ideas at all please?

kind regards

Are they Forscan cables or just generic OBD?

Ideally you'll need Forscan.  Though it does sound like your port might have an issue as well.  The port is fused on some newer models.

You are checking for power with the ignition switched on?

As @TomsFocus says, you really need Forscan to get the full picture, Ford's don't communicate properly with most generic scanners.

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.
