Tom Tom connection to car

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a ford fiesta zetec 2008. I bought the tom tom for navigation. I've been charging it via the plug in my room in the house. Now the problem is the battery runs out quickly which is beyond annoying. So if I want to do a motorway drive it will run out of battery.

Can I not charge the Tom Tom in the USB port in the car or some other way? I tried this it didn't work.

The other problem is that the tom tom device doesn't stick to the window properly and falls off whilst your driving. You would think for them to build a product they would get the basics right and actually have a product that doesn't fall down easily but no. Any workarounds?

Thanks

Isn't this a tomtom fault and not a fiesta fault....

But to answer your question...clean the window where you are sticking it.

Clean the rubber part of the mount..

Some usb sockets in cars or on head units are only 1 amp where a tomtom usually require 1.5 or 2 amp to charge.

If you have the correct charger and lead best to use the 12v socket in the center console

Ford build cars, it's impossible to know what individual drivers are going to do with them !

Buy a charger that fits your TomTom and that can be plugged in to your car. There are lots of different ones to chose from, just have a look on Amazon or eBay.

Thanks chaps - I'm a newbie with driving! getting to grips with it all!

And ensure you don't attach the holder to the dotty bit of the windscreen (Sorry if Grannie & Eggs))
