Rattle worse than a loose turbo wastegate?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I recently received a reply stating that the sound my engine makes when revving could be wastegate rattling which is normal. Only recently it’s started to make the rattle sound at idle,

Does it sound anything more severe than a wastegate?

If you are referring to that more distinct depper pitched rattle sound just as you tap the throttle mine does the same when the engine is cold, the old engine had it when i bought the car, so does the new one, idk what it is but for over two years it hasnt been an issue. As for idle that just sounds normal to me, it isnt exactly a smooth sounding engine.

I have this exact problem on my 2021 1.0 ecoboost mhev and thinking of replacing the turbo
