Sync system is really slow

Featured Replies

Hi, My son has a 2018 Fiesta St Line. Lately the sync system is taking ages to come on, it starts to play music then 10 mins later the screen comes on but even then, when you press anything it takes for ever to see that something has been pressed.

I have tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and also tried the reset by pressing the power and forward skip for 10 seconds but it is still the same.

Has anyone else had this issue and of so, any luck fixing it

I think it is a 2.5 as I'm pretty sure it doesn't have its own SatNav, would that be correct?

Iirc in 2018 the "base"  ST-L had Sync 3 but with no sat nav and a 6.5" screen. I had the ST-L X which gained the larger 8" screen with (pretty useless) sat nav.

This is a fairly typical thread from back then:

Ahh, so it is a Sync3 but a basic one 🙂

Anybody experienced these types of issues and had any joy resolving it?

Turn off wi-fi and auto updates in the settings (auto updates needs to be put on only when updating)

Probably needs updating

Yes, that was the usual advice. Wi-Fi updates never worked on the early Mk 8 with Sync 3.0 anyway, don't know if it was ever sorted, there were loads of threads on here at the time.

You can check if any updates are available:
